Christmas Gift Guide 2023
Christmas is well and truly on its way and I for one am trying to get prepped! We started decorating the house yesterday which is lovely, but let’s be honest… that’s not exactly relaxing with an 8 year old and a 2 year old!!
I’m trying to get organised with gift buying too. Pre-children I used to leave this until rather the last minute. But now I really do find it helps all round to try and get presents bought as soon as possible. This helps me feel more relaxed in the lead up to the big day and also means I don’t panic buy gifts when time is running out! I love to try and really put some thought in to the presents I give and the more time I have the easier this is.
When it comes to buying for mums to be, new babies and new parents, it can be tricky to know what to buy; especially as they’ll no doubt have been busy buying ready for their baby’s arrival already. To help, I’ve pulled together this gift guide filled with thoughtful gifts for all.
1) The Book of You - Colour Chronicles - £25.00 - a beautiful thoughtful gift that parents and caregivers can use to document their child’s life by filling in details on an annual basis from 1-16 years. I really want to get these for the boys! Even though my older son is 8, I still think there is immense value in getting this. I don’t think it should put you off buying it if the recipient is over 1.
2) Monogram Muslins - Willa and the Bear - £22.50 - in my opinion, you can never have enough muslins for a new baby! What a special gift with their personalised initial on them.
3) Stars Stocking - Raspberry Blossom - £23.95 - a perfect first stocking!
4) Santa Baby Jumper - George at Asda - £9.00 - such a sweet little unisex jumper and a great price too. Be quick as it is sure to sell out!
5) Starsnug Fleece - Tuppence and Crumble - from £22.95 - my go to gift for a winter baby. Personally I find these so much easier than a pramsuit to get a baby in and out of, and they are super cosy too.
6) Gift Cards - various - as much as physical gifts are always lovely, a great option for a new family is a gift card or money towards a baby class. I love Sing and Sign and Hartbeeps especially.
7) Peekaboo Santa - Nosy Crow Books - £7.99 - the Peekaboo range has been such a hit with my youngest son; this Christmas version will no doubt be loved all year round.
8) Ladybird Ride On Toy - Wheely Bug - £65.99 - sold at various retailers, this ride on toy is a hit with everyone who visits our house! My 8 year old and his friends still whizz around on it and my youngest has been known to make me have a go on it too!
1) Floral Bath Soak - Mum Bub Hub - £16.00 - I love all the products by Mum Bub Hub! This floral bath soak would be a great gift for anyone who loves a relax in the bath.
2) Scamp & Dude x Adeola Gboyega Make Up and Wash Bags - Scamp & Dude - £25.00 and £35.00 - Scamp and Dude’s wonderful collaborations always make gorgeous gifts (and ones that benefit charities too with percentages of each sale going to the collab’s chosen charity). These bags would be great for a mum to be to use in her hospital bag prep.
3) Gift Vouchers - Beyond Nine - from £5.00 - I lived in my Beyond Nine Poppy jumpsuit throughout my last pregnancy and still wear it now! Vouchers would be perfect for a mum to be to choose something new for herself.
4) Floral Brownies - Blushing Cook - from £34.00 - The most beautiful brownies that taste amazing too!
5) Stripe Strong Girls Club Weekend Bag - Muthahood Goods - £47.00 - A perfect hospital bag with a great affirmation reminder on it too!
6) Beauty Editor Favourites Collection Nail Varnish Set - Nailberry - £56.50 - Three of Nailberry’s most popular colours plus their bestselling top coat. Toxin free, cruelty free and vegan. Add a gift box for £2.00.
7) Hatch Mama: Mama Must Haves - For The Creators - £105 - Combining their best selling essentials for mamas to be. It includes Belly Oil, Down Girls swollen leg and foot relief and Nipple and Lip care cream all packaged in a fab gift box.
8) Cotton Sweetheart Mama & Mini Matching Jumpers - Seraphine - currently on sale at £39.00 - Gorgeous nursing top and matching 0-6 month baby version too.
1) Personalised 4 Sided Solid Spinning Bar Necklace - Amy Russell Taylor - from £220.00 - I have one of these and it is one of my most prized possessions. A stunning timeless necklace that is a favourite with celebrities too.
2) Mama and Papa Mugs - Oliver Bonas - Mama £14.00 and Papa £12.00 - who doesn’t like a mug?! Especially if it comes with this coffee machine…
3) Grind One Coffee Pod Machine - Grind - from £295.00 - a Nespresso compatible pod machine. Perfect for tired new parents!
4) Personalised Moet & Chandon Champagne - Selfridges - £64.99 - fizz to celebrate the new arrival made all the better with the option to personalise the tin with their birth date.
5) Gift Card - Doze til Dawn Sleep Consultant - from £25.00 - gift vouchers from Doze til Dawn are the perfect gift for any parents or expecting parents. Give the gift of sleep this Christmas!
6) Oh Mumma Subscription Box - Oh Mumma - from £25.00 per box - subscribe to send a new mum a box full of amazing treats to give her a little moment of self care. Choose from a pay as you go option or prepay for up to a whole year of deliveries. Boxes are sent every two months.
7) Georg Jensen 2023 Christmas Hanging Bell Ornament - Georg Jensen - currently on sale at £26.10 - this seems to be selling out fast but is still worth a mention. These beautiful decorations are such a lovely way to mark a new baby’s first Christmas. I’ve got them for both of my boys and I love unwrapping them every year when we decorate the tree.
8) New Parents Meals - Cook - from £78.70 - Cook frozen meals make amazing gifts to send to busy new parents. I love sending them as a congratulations on your new arrival present. Loads of different options to be found via the link dependent on how much you want to spend. There’s even an option to add in some meals for kids too; ideal if the new parents in question have older children too.
